Unfortunately we, the Friends of The Phasmid Inc. will be closing down. There are a number of factors why the friends are closing. We were looking at the 30th June 2023 but will be extended for 6 months to make sure we have completed all the necessary legal requirements.

 

There are a number of reasons why the Friends are closing but the main ones are

 

1. We have lost most of our membership during COVID 19 and have not recovered

 

2. We long longer have any live phasmids to breed

 

3. The eradication on LHI has now been completed with phasmids being bred at Melbourne Zoo and on LHI

 

The friends are looking at a number of invertebrates organisations that will continue research to help save endangered insects, one such organisation is Australian Invertebrates.
